The Values

WE ARE DAUGHTERS of our Heavenly Father, who loves us, and we love Him. WE WILL “STAND as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places” (Mosiah 18:9) as we strive to live the Young Women values, which are:
Faith • Divine Nature • Individual Worth • Knowledge • Choice and Accountability • Good Works • Integrity • and Virtue
WE BELIEVE as we come to accept and act upon these values, WE WILL BE PREPARED to strengthen home and family, make and keep sacred covenants, receive the ordinances of the temple, and enjoy the blessings of exaltation.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are 8 Young Women's values listed in the YW's theme above. To complete your personal progress, you must pass off each value. Each value has required value experiences, additional value experiences, and a value project except for virtue which has only four required value experiences, and a required value project (reading the Book of Mormon).

FAITH
"Faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true (Alma 32:21).
I am a daughter of Heavenly Father, who loves me. I have faith in His eternal plan, which centers on Jesus Christ, my Savior."  (p.p. faith online)

DIVINE  NATURE
"Be partakers of the divine nature. … Giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity (2 Peter 1:4–7).
I have inherited divine qualities, which I will strive to develop." (p.p. divine nature online)

INDIVIDUAL  WORTH
"Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God (D&C 18:10).
I am of infinite worth with my own divine mission, which I will strive to fulfill." (p.p. individual worth online)

KNOWLEDGE
"Seek learning, even by study and also by faith (D&C 88:118).
I will continually seek opportunities for learning and growth." (p.p. knowledge online)

CHOICE  &  ACCOUNTABILITY
"Choose you this day whom ye will serve; … but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:15).
I will choose good over evil and will accept responsibility for my decisions." (p.p. choice & accountability online)

GOOD  WORKS
"Therefore let your light so shine before this people, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven (3 Nephi 12:16).
I will help others and build the kingdom through righteous service." (p.p. good works online)

INTEGRITY
"Till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me (Job 27:5).
I will have the moral courage to make my actions consistent with my knowledge of right and wrong." (p.p. integrity online)

VIRTUE
"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies (Proverbs 31:10).
I will prepare to enter the temple and remain pure and worthy.
My thoughts and actions will be based on high moral standards." (p.p. virtue online)

Knowledge

And as all have not faith , seek ye diligently and teach  one another words of wisdom ; yea, seek ye out of the best books  words of wisdom; seek learning, even by study and also by faith. ( D&C 88: 118 ) O, remember, my son, and learn wisdom  in thy youth ; yea, learn in thy youth to keep the commandments of God. ( Alma 37: 35 ) Learn of me, and listen to my words; walk  in the meekness  of my Spirit, and you shall have peace  in me. ( D&C 19:23 ) -------------------------------------------------------------------- Knowledge was the very first value I passed off. I did value experiences 1-3, 4-5, and 7. For my value project, I blogged every day for an entire year. Whenever I missed a day I made up for it, and sometimes I posted multiple times a day. I ended up with 405 blog posts at the end of the year. Check out my blog  here ! -------------------------------------------------------------------- Knowledge is ve...

Welcome!!

Welcome to my personal progress blog! My name is Lily Christensen, and I am 14 years old. The personal progress program will be discontinued next year, so I'm trying to hurry and complete it before it's too late. :) I am creating this blog for my faith value experience, and I will need to spend at least 10 hours working on this website to pass it off, so a lot of hard work is going into this. I am finding that the easiest way to keep track of how many hours I've checked off is to write the amount of time it has taken me to complete each post/page. A lot more work has gone into this than it may seem. For example- the Values page  took me over an hour to complete. I customized the front page and messed around with the layout which took another 10 minutes. Writing this (and editing the font, size, colors, and adding the link) has taken me another 10 minutes. To complete this value experience, I need to work on this blog for at least 10 hours which is equivalent to 600 ...
